This café, which opened its doors in October 2002, serves lunch, dinner, and drinks that you can enjoy while watching the sun set at sea.

Here, there’s traditional Portuguese cuisine made with local products, such as rice and recently-caught fish. Variety is not a problem at Comporta Café. There’s petiscos, salads, grilled fish, and pot-made dishes on the menu. If you’re looking for a specialty, make sure to ask for the squid, the shrimp with Comporta Café sauce or the sautéed mushroom mix with smoked pork sausage.

Luís Carvalho, the restaurant owner, is also responsible for the concession which turned Praia da Comporta into a social happening. This is an extremely clean and well-preserved beach, which has been awarded the European Blue Flag. Here you can rent one of Luís’ thatch umbrellas and lounge chairs or bring your own from home and still enjoy the beach and its facilities, such as the toilets and car park.
