Radio Palace Has Hosted Many Events Since Its Opening
For three months, Radio Palace was the cultural epicenter of Lisbon
Radio Palace has been open since 30 March, when the Frank Gehry Collection for Ferreira de Sá was inaugurated. After this was followed by the opening of the exhibition Resgate/Sauvetage, a collective exhibition of twelve Portuguese and French artists.
In addition to these exhibitions, which can be seen until the 30th of this month, Radio Palace hosted several events throughout these months.
30/03 – Vernissage Frank Gehry Collection by Ferreira de Sá
On the March 30, the tapestry exhibition signed by the famous architect Frank Gehry and produced by the company Ferreira de Sá in the emblematic Radio Palace building was inaugurated. The former Radio Museum, located at no. 21 Rua do Quelhas in Lapa, hosted the inauguration party of this distinguished collection in the afternoon of the same day, with more than 150 guests on a show that was very lively and promising.
04/04 – Photoshoot with the actress Isabel Abreu
Isabel Abreu, winner of the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Theater in 2017 for her performance in the play “A Diary of Prayersâ€, was, on April 4, at the historic building of Radio Palace to participate in a photoshoot with LuÃs Eça. This prestigious photographer has worked with magazines such as Elle and Vogue and with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Maybelline.
19/04 – Vernissage Resgate/Sauvetage
In the secular building of Radio Palace, the collective exhibition of contemporary art entitled Resgate/Sauvetage was inaugurated on April 19th. This exhibition was attended by Portuguese and French artists, whose works are an allegory to the emergence of the building, and brings together various artistic expressions from installation, to video, to sculpture, among others. At the end of the afternoon of the same day about 350 people passed through the palace, including several artists. The guests danced to celebrate the opening of this promising and eclectic exhibition.
27/04 - Ding Dong Open Day
As part of their participation in the collective exhibition Resgate/Sauvetage, in the emblematic building of Radio Palace in Lapa, Ding Dong Architecture & Interiors organized an open day, on April 27, to showcase his work entitled Underwater Love. Journalists, bloggers and other curious guests were invited to learn more about the company's creative, avant-garde and sophisticated work.
29/04 – Dinner Unique - Vanguard Properties Administration
A unique dinner took place on the evening of April 29 in the Radio Palace building in Lisbon. This dinner was served in a dark room lit only with the diffused light from the works of art present in space and some candlelight. The theme chosen was the sea, being the menu, the decorations and even background music representative of this theme. This event was attended by the Vanguard Properties Administration, artists of the exhibition Resgate/Sauvetage and guests.
04/05 - Visit of the Plastics class of the Faculty of Fine Arts
A unique dinner took place on the evening of April 29 in the Radio Palace building in Lisbon. This dinner was served in a dark room lit only with the diffused light from the works of art present in space and some candlelight. The theme chosen was the sea, being the menu, the decorations and even background music representative of this theme. This event was attended by the Vanguard Properties Administration, artists of the exhibition Resgate/Sauvetage and guests.
06/05 - Event Nomad Live Recording
On May 6, Radio Palace was the stage for the 2nd edition of Nomad Live Recording. This initiative aims to provide musical encounters and, at the same time, small concerts of bands with original works. These intimate concerts always take place in a different and surprising place, and subsequently is created a video of the performance. This edition of Nomad Live Recording was attended by the artists Tiago Silvestre, Mellodraw and Andrea Musio and about 70 spectators.
09/05 – “O Lar da Criança†Field Trip
It was on May 9 that Radio Palace was visited by 15 girls and boys between the ages of 3 and 5 years of the Externato "O Lar da Criança", located in Lapa, accompanied by their two educators. During three hours a creative guided tour was made that allowed the children to get directly involved with the works of contemporary art present at the exhibition Resgate/Sauvetage. In this way, this young group was introduced to contemporary art, learning in a light and didactic way to decode it, to understand it and to enjoy it.
