1. Day 1
Avenida da Liberdade - the Champs-Élysées of Lisbon, is a good place to start your journey. This is the largest and most luxurious avenue in the city and it is known for its shops and hotels. Walk down the avenue to Restauradores Square, passing Rossio Station, until you reach the beautiful Rossio Square - the city centre.
Head to Rua Augusta and watch the street performers. Here you will find some of the most famous fast-fashion stores like Zara and HM. If you are interested in fashion, visit the Museum of Design and Fashion.
Before heading to Commerce Square, go up to the viewpoint located at the top of the Triumphal Arch of Rua Augusta. For € 2.5 you get a magnificent view of the city centre, which includes the Castle of São Jorge, Rua Augusta and Praça do Comércio.
Take the 15 tram and head to Belém. Start by visiting the Jerónimos Monastery, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Have a delicious Pastel de Belém and head to one of the museums in the area. You can choose the National Coach Museum or the Berardo Collection Museum. Both are among Lisbon's best museums.
Cross the road through the underground passage that is located in front of the garden and go to the Monument to the Discoveries. You can admire the monument from the outside or go inside and see Belém and the Tagus from above. Take the opportunity to visit the Belém Tower, one of the most emblematic monuments in Lisbon.
Go back to the city centre and take the 28 tram. Stop at the Portas do Sol Viewpoint and admire the view from the most typical area of the city. Climb the street to the Castle of São Jorge, where you will have Lisbon at your feet. On the way back, admire Alfama and have dinner at a fado house.
2. Day 2
Return to Rossio and head to the most popular neighbourhoods of the city, Chiado and PrÃncipe Real. Go past Garret Street and visit iconic shops such as Bertrand, the oldest bookstore in the world. Pass through A Brasileira café and take a photo with the statue of Fernando Pessoa. Head to Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo, Lisbon's most photographed street. If you go down the street, you will be able to visit the Church of Santa Catarina and the Church of São Roque.
Go up the hill until you reach the most romantic observation point of the capital, the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. Follow Rua Dom Pedro V and get lost in the shops, stroll through Praça do PrÃncipe Real and visit the beautiful Embassy gallery. You can have lunch at Cevicheria, where chef Kiko masterly reinterprets the ceviche.
In the afternoon we recommend you go to Parque das Nações. Get to know the Oceanarium, which has incredible aquariums with thousands of species. Take a photograph of the Vasco da Gama Bridge, the largest bridge in Europe. Visit the Casino and get a ride in a cable car.
To end the evening, go to the Ribeira Time Out Market, which has several options by well-known Portuguese chefs. To end the night on a positive note, have a drink at romantic Pensão do Amor - a unique bar located in Cais do Sodré.
3. Day 3
For the last day, we recommend you visit Sintra, the amazing village located 40 minutes away from Lisbon. Take the train at Rossio Station and you will quickly reach the town of fairytales.
Start by visiting the amazing and multicoloured Pena Palace, as beautiful live as on photographs. Take the opportunity to pass by the Moorish Castle.
You should also visit the National Palace, located in the center of Sintra, it is one of the oldest medieval palaces in Europe. Quinta da Regaleira and Monserrate Palace are also incredible monuments, that will certainly impress you.
For your last night's dinner in Lisbon, book one of the nicest restaurants and enjoy the best that the Portuguese gastronomy has to offer. End the night in one of the multiple city rooftop terraces and admire the night view of Lisbon.
